Nike Sportswear's Air Foamposite One has soared to new heights in terms of popularity over the last year, the pinnacle coming with the release of the "Galaxy" colorway during All-Star Weekend in Orlando. Feathers were ruffled even more when Category Footwear Leader Gentry Humphrey confirmed the release of at least four more pairs in 2012. Somebody who doesn't have to wait for their next Foam pickup is legendary film director, sneaker icon and sports mega fan Spike Lee, who jumped on his Twitter account this morning to show off a Knicks-themed pair of Foams exclusively made for him.
The shoe sports a Creamsicle-like vibrant orange foam base, helped by royal blue nubuck along the eyestay, tongue mesh, textile collar, pull-tabs and inner lining. Spike's Mars Blackmon and 40 Acres and a Mule logos appear on the left and right heels respectively, while a translucent outsole completes the look below. If I were a betting man, I'd look for these on Spike's feet when the Knicks' first round series against the Miami Heat resumes at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
We know if these were to hit stores, they'd sell out immediately. The question is whether or not you'd be one of the people picking up a pair? Let us know what you think about the Spike Foams below.
